Tonight members gathered for our monthly member night. A fun night for us to hang out and have a good time! This month it was game night. A fun time was had by all. Thanks to everyone who came to hang out and to those who brought games!  

Tonight the volunteer members gathered for part one of a two part CPR and First Aid training class. Instructor Eugene Smith provided excellent training on CPR. The members learned a lot of valuable information. We look forward to having Eugene back this Monday night for First Aid training.

Today the members of South Media Fire Company assisted company 44 (Springfield) with a car fire on 476. Squad 51 was staffed with driver Earle Grant, OIC Max Hopkins (51-12) firefighter Carey Corson and Captain Wayne Borowsky (51-12a). 51-12A assisted with a booster line to extinguish the fire. The scene was put under control within 20 minutes.

Today South Media fire company was dispatched to Upper Providence twp to assist company 73 on a multi alarm building fire. Crews responded quickly under the direction of Captain Wayne Borowsky ,Upon arrival crews split and went to work. After three alarms the stubborn fire was brought under control safely. Good Job to all that were on location.

Tonight the volunteer members of South Media Fire Company attended the annual Bowling Green tree lighting. We escourted our very own Santa Claus around the neighborhood to visit all the children. A fun time was had by all! Santa can't wait to see all the kids again next year!

Tonight Members got instructed in survival in dangerous and life threatening situations when trapped in in a fire building. Members breached walls with tools and were instructed on how to get through walls to a safer place. A big thanks goes out to Dennis Gallagher for teaching this great class. This will be a 2 part class. South Media is continuing to excel in all aspects of firefighter training thanks to all the instructors from the Pennsylvania fire academy and the Delaware county emergency services training center.

Today officers and firefighters of South Media Fire Company attended an introduction to Delaware County Emergency services US&R equipment which was purchased with Department Of Homeland security grants. This is a great opportunity for fire service personnel to practice and work with other firefighters from all over Delaware County.
